LFT launches disaster relief effort
(Baton Rouge – August 18, 2016) The Louisiana Federation of Teachers is reaching out to members who were affected by the August floods, assessing their needs and working to provide assistance, LFT Interim President Larry Carter said today.
EMUFT Statement on Attempted Intimidation by EMU Administration During Bargaining
On Thursday, August 18, EMU administration assigned EMU police officers to be stationed in the area outside of the EMUFT (EMU Lecturers union) caucus room through much of the day, including during our weekly Membership Update Meeting. At various times, both plain-clothes officers and uniformed officers were present.
Bargaining Updates August 2016
EMUFT has been bargaining the Full Time Lecturers contract with EMU administration. The FTL contract is important to all lecturers because we are one unit and support one another even though we have a separate contract for PTLs. And a strong FTL contract will help us get a strong PTL contract. Here's what happened so far in August.
