AFT Vermont Organizational Priorities 2018-20
Hundreds of DFT members attend conversation with Dr. Nikolai Vitti.
During the October 17 evening meeting, topics included our concerns about Climate and Culture; Student Code of Conduct policy; TIP tax withholding; teacher evaluations; new curriculum; and lack of supplies at schools.The meeting was held at Martin Luther King High School.

Election for Board of Directors
An election for Board of Director positions at AFT Healthcare-Maryland will be held in November. The election will include the following positions: President, Executive Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, 2 Area Vice-Presidents, Chief Shop Steward, Eastern Region Vice-President, Central Region Vice-President, and Western Region Vice-President. To be eligible to run for office in your union, you must be a member in good standing for at least one year.

Update: Grievance against 911 Call Center Base Salary Cut
UPDATE: 10/12/2018 The Maryland Court of Special Appeals recently decided that “reclassifications” made by the County is an action that is not subject to arbitration. We had hoped that the Court would rule that the County’s action would allow us to go to arbitration on issues of salary, reclassification, and 12-hour shift issues.
With this in mind the BCFPE Executive Board voted on 09/05/18 not to pursue the Grievance to the Maryland Court of Appeals for three reasons:

Are you registered to vote? Voter registration in Maryland for the general election ends on Oct. 16th.
- October 16, 2018: Deadline to register to vote in the General Election.
- October 25 - November 1, 2018: Early Voting for the General Election.
- November 6, 2018: Election Day
